Do you struggle with changing strings when picking?
This is a common problem I see amongst players who’re new to playing scales and riffs.
One the best things to do is take something reasonably simple like a scale or riff that requires you to change strings, slow it right down and keep your eyes on your picking hand.
This will help you get a visual idea of how far the pick needs to travel in order to get to the next string.
Practice the scale or riff for 5 minutes while watching your picking hand, then try it for 2 or 3 minutes without watching.
After a while, you’ll become comfortable knowing how far your pick needs to travel in order to get to the next string and you won’t need to look anymore.
