Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get in touch to book a free trial or ask questions?
Fill out the form at the bottom of the page. When I receive it, I’ll give you a call to chat about your current playing ability, what you’d like to achieve and answer any questions you have. We can also talk about a time to book your free trial.
How long are lessons?
The lesson lengths you can choose from are 1 hour, 45 minutes or half an hour.
Are lessons every week?
You can choose to have your lessons every week or every second week depending on what works best for you.
How much do lessons cost?
Lesson prices vary depending on how long you want your lessons to go for, how frequently you choose to have lessons and whether you’d like to have Zoom or face-to-face lessons. It’s best for us to discuss this during our call, if you tell me your budget I can help you choose something that works best.
Where are face-to-face lessons located?
I run face-to-face lessons from a studio in central Brunswick. I can give you the address to the studio during our call after you fill out the inquiry form.
What do I need for Zoom lessons?
All you need is a computer, webcam and an internet connection, you can even use a phone or tablet if you prefer. All you need to do is sit in front of your camera so I can see you, your guitar and your hands and have your amplifier close by so I can hear it through the mic. It doesn’t need to be loud for this.
Can I study with you if I’m still a beginner
Of course. That being said, it would be best for us to have a call first to chat about your current playing ability and work out whether or not I would be the best teacher for you right now.
Will you also teach me to play faster and cleaner?
Yes. These lessons will also focus on technique to help you play faster and more accurately.
Will you help me improve my hand strength for bending?
Yes. These lessons will focus on technique to help you play bends and vibrato with more ease and control.
How long before I can improvise solos?
That depends on your current ability level and how much you apply yourself between lessons. But we’ll be working on what you need to know in order to improvise quite soon after starting.
Will you make me read music?
No. I will teach you to read rhythm but we’ll be working from tab, not notation.
